November Drop-Off Guide
Winter Is In, and We Need Gift-Ready Toys
Drop-offs are open November 1–21 and we're taking winter: heavy coats, boots, and layers. We're also looking for new and like-new toys that are ready to wrap. Here's what to bring, what to leave at home, and how to pass the gift test.
Cold weather is officially here, and our shoppers are hunting for the warm stuff. If you packed away coats and boots that didn't get much wear last year, this is the month to bring them in.
Bring Us Your Winter
If it kept you cozy last winter and still looks great, it belongs in your bag this month.
Heavy Coats
Puffers, parkas, wool overcoats, and rain shells with a real hood. Shoppers ask for Patagonia, The North Face, Columbia, and Arc'teryx by name.
Boots
Ankle, tall, and weatherproof, with soles that still have life left in them. Sorel, Blundstone, UGG, and Frye move fast once the rain settles in.
Layers
Wool, cashmere, and merino sweaters, fleece, flannels, and quarter-zips.
Snow Gear
Snow pants, bibs, and insulated jackets for kids and adults. For the little ones, Hanna Andersson is always at the top of the list.
Cold-Weather Extras
Scarves, hats, gloves, and mittens.

Quality Is Everything
From now through December, a lot of our shoppers are buying for someone else. So the bar for every piece is simple: would you wrap it? A few minutes of sorting at home means more of your bag makes it onto the floor.
- Freshly washed and odor-free. Everything should come in clean and ready to wear tomorrow.
- Check it in good light. Stains and pilling are the top two reasons a piece gets passed over, and both hide in a dim closet.
- Zippers, buttons, and soles. Coats should zip, boots shouldn't be scuffed through, and every button should be there.
- In season. Your pieces sell for 90 days, so winter pieces get their best shot right now.
What We Don't Take
Please leave these at home:
- ❌ Summer pieces. Shorts, swimwear, and sundresses can wait for spring.
- ❌ Fast fashion, including Shein, Temu, and Amazon, Walmart, and Target store brands.
- ❌ Anything stained, pilled, stretched out, or missing buttons.
- ❌ Underwear and socks, regardless of condition.
- ❌ Men's suiting.
- ❌ Recalled items, or toys and equipment with missing parts.

Gift-Ready Toys 🎁
We're looking for new and like-new toys, the kind you'd be happy to wrap and put under the tree for a child this year. Parents and grandparents are shopping their lists right now, and gift-ready toys are the first thing to leave our floor.
Brands we love: Jellycat, LEGO, Magna-Tiles, American Girl, Melissa & Doug, and other well-made toys and games.
Top of our wish list: indoor play sets, kitchens, and imagination play. Play kitchens, dollhouses, play tents, dress-up, and pretend-play sets are exactly what families are hunting for this season.
Have something big? Larger items need approval before drop-off so we can make sure we have room. Send us a few photos first and we'll let you know.
Before you pack toys, make sure they're clean, complete, and working:
- ✓ Every part and piece is there. Bag small pieces so nothing gets lost.
- ✓ Wiped down and clean. No stains, marker, or stickers.
- ✓ Batteries in and working. Everything powers on.
- ✓ Plush is clean, soft, and fluffy, like the day it came home.
If it wouldn't pass the gift test, it won't pass ours. Toy drop-offs go to our Cedar Mill store.

When to Come In
Drop-offs run November 1 through the 21st at both stores. As a current consignor, you don't need an appointment. Just bring your bags in any day inside that window.
